Welcome back. This week’s selection is a non mathematical random pick. I didn’t use a number generator, but it was an organic, page flipping pick.
This a a standard Petrarchan sonnet, ABBAABBACDECDE
From the Jaws of Defeat #68 When first attempts indeed do fail we must Continue trying and to persevere, For failures are but steps to help us steer Our way to God, in Whom we always trust. I've seen it so myself, left in the dust My courage sapped, all but consumed by fear. Triumphant Satan standing tall to sneer, My view of self left me full of disgust. Yet prodded my own self to rise and stand And set such goals unfeasible to see. While step by step I climbed out of my hell With clearer vision, I surveyed the land Began to understand I could be free And find a place of happiness to dwell. I think this is a pretty straightforward, descriptive piece. Knowing full well we face defeat, a determined effort may bring us to success. To paraphrase an Easy Company officer, You need to consider yourself as already dead and just go.
Scheduling this week was difficult, so maybe the selection wasn’t as haphazard as I thought. Thank you yet again, Calliope.
Or buy me a coffee
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
